Egret Eastern great

                                                                                          cm, the wingspan
                                                                                          is more than 1 m.
                                                                                          The       plumage
                                                                                          is  loose,  pure
                                                                                          white in color.
                                                                                          In the breeding
            plumage, long and loose feathers (egretki) stand out on the back, noticeably protruding beyond
            the tail edge. On the underside of the neck and goiter, there are much less long and loose
            feathers that form a «mane». There are no elongated feathers on the head. Characterized by
            seasonal changes in the color of the beak and bare skin on the «frenum» and around the eyes.
               Food items — fish, amphibians, molluscs, aquatic insects.
               In the Sakhalin region, it is found in the Nevelskoye, Kholmsky, Uglegorsky, Tomarinsky,
            Korsakovsky, Anivsky, Yuzhno-Kurilsky and Kuril districts. Southern egrets nestin South,
            Southeast and East Asia, Australia, New Zealand. The nesting areas closest to the Sakhalin
            region are on the island Honshu (Japan) and on the lake Khanka (Primorsky Territory).
